It’s needed to be creative for a salary?
I present you lablogserie, the monthly chronicle of a likely marketing agency. Today, the new chapter of lablogserie comes to English Metas to improve its english and entertain you.
Celia, the director, is angry because she feels her workers don’t apply creativity as she thinks they ought to. So, she has decided to send them to Avalok, a real enterprise in Barcelona the aim of which is to estimulate and potenciate creative attitudes.
This is te creative session:
Berto expected a huge blackboard where to show his inexhaustible fantasy. He never needed a creativity session and never would do. Mariana wanted it to be a short time and not to speak too much, she had a landing page to make. Francisco was curious about the digital system used. Marc dreamed about his unknown reputation.
But in that white room there were only a round table and many plasticine bars. Berto looked impacient for more, while Roberto comes into the room.
-Hi, I’m Roberto. I’m sitting with you two hours to lose our time. So relax and express yourself with this plasticine bars. Tea is coming.
To play? Great! thinks Berto. And he begins to form a football ball. Mariana looks for a nail file inside her bag for better modeling. Francisco holds the plasticine bar on his hands and looks it concentrated. Marc waits to see what the others are making.
-Are you working at the same area? -asks Roberto-. Not me -explains Francisco-. I have to control systems in the computers area. -Aren’t you very popular between your fellows, isn’t it? -asks Roberto. Francisco looks him without understanding: -I’m always helping them to do their job! They couldn’t work without me! -Jua, jua, jua, the others laugh. Francisco gets angry and press the plasticine with his fist.
Mariana files a padlock with the brand Nonstop in it. -To open it and go away, i think -comments Roberto to her. -It’s fine to lose the time, but I have better ways to do this -answers Mariana in an honest manner. -Anything better than a creative moment? -insists Roberto. -My whole life is plenty of them, thanks. -But not your work, I’m afraid. Seems that you are the kind of persons that only create when they want -concludes Roberto kindly. Mariana scrutinizes him, not knowing exactly what he means.
Francisco is still angry, not making anything. His distort plastilina mess lays neglected on the table. Berto uses it as a goal for his distort football, which smooths better with every shoot. He shoots and gets excited. -Make the goal more difficult -Roberto encourages Francisco to make something. Francisco smiles cunning and strengthen his plastilina goal. Takes another one and begins to make a cave.
Meanwhile Marc has began to make a rag doll, like a marzipan cake. -I think you want just to eat it -comments Roberto, funny. -I would never eat my friend -answers, jokely-, but I invite you to eat it. -Who would you eat of your job? -asks then Roberto. Marc gets puzzled and looks the others out of the corners. All of them look at him.
-Actually, all of them. Never pay attention to me -answers Marc upset. Mariana changes her paddlock to a butterfly and puts it on his shoulder.
You are very different -exclaims Roberto- and have a lot of virtues. If you attempt to play, to experiment more, you would be a great team.
Francisco has finished his football goal and puts it on the table, in front of Berto’s balloon. All are attracted by the clever system to close the balloon inside the goal.
A question for you:
Have we to include our creativity in our jobs, are it paid?
